Beijing-based drama company Magnificent Culture and Alibaba's online ticketing platform Damai reached a strategic cooperation agreement, a news conference revealed on Wednesday.
The two companies aim to co-produce high-quality theater productions, establish digitalized marketing strategies, as well as promote productions in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions.
This year, Damai's theater brand Mailive partnered with Magnificent Culture in co-producing the play Crocodile, directed by Magnificent Culture's artistic director Wang Keran and written by Nobel laureate Mo Yan.
The news conference also marked the launch of ticket sales for Crocodile, which will make its premiere in Beijing from Aug 30 to Sept 1. Ticket sales for some cities on its China tour have also begun, including Fujian province's Fuzhou, Henan province's Zhengzhou, and Jiangxi province's Nanchang.
Tickets for performances in Guangdong province's Zhuhai and Hubei province's Wuhan will be available for purchase on Saturday and Wednesday, respectively.
