A special event was held in Beijing on Tuesday to showcase the cultural and tourism offerings of Lianyungang in East China's Jiangsu province.
Featuring displays of photography, local delicacies and enchanting performances celebrating its intangible cultural heritage, the event delved into various facets of Lianyungang.
Hailed as the "hometown of the Monkey King" - a beloved hero from the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, Lianyungang is known for its blend of history, myth and natural beauty, boasting picturesque river and sea views.
In the coming months, nearly 70 Chinese cultural centers and tourism offices worldwide will also spotlight the cultural and tourism allure of Lianyungang. In May, a special activity called "Journey to the West, Scent of Tea in the Clouds" will grace Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Tuesday's event is co-organized by the Network of International Culturalink Entities, the Party committee of Lianyungang and the city government. It's part of the "Global Release of China Cultural and Tourism Resources" initiative, which was launched in September 2022 to share China's rich cultural and tourism resources while nurturing a platform for exchanges between China and the rest of the world.
